Introducing Textbook+
School learning is too often shaped by rote memorisation and grade-level silos. Students are trained to answer the questions on a specific test, and the natural urge to explore a related idea gets lost along the way. The textbooks themselves — trusted, carefully written — are static and dense, and when a student gets stuck on a line, help is never right there.
Textbook+ is our attempt to change that. It keeps the original NCERT pages front and centre, exactly as they are printed, and puts a patient study companion beside them — not instead of the book, but around it.
What's inside
- The whole NCERT library — every English-medium textbook for Classes 6 to 12: 116 books, 980 chapters, as the original pages with real figures and selectable text. There's no grade lock-in; a curious Class 7 student can open the Class 10 science book.
- Help beside every page — plain-language explanations, key terms with pronunciation, quick quizzes, and try-this activities, all synced to the page you're reading.
- Chalkboard walkthroughs — select any formula or derivation and watch it solved step by step on an animated chalkboard, with voice narration you can slow down or speed up. Every step is checked by a second AI before you see it.
- Videos that stay in the app — hand-picked educational YouTube videos play inline, and where no good video exists, a short concept clip made just for that section fills the gap.
- Real board-exam practice — thousands of questions from official CBSE question banks and sample papers for Classes 10 and 12, mapped to each chapter, every one solvable step by step on the chalkboard.
- A tutor that asks, not tells — chat about the chapter and get guided toward the answer with questions, the way a good teacher does. Stuck on homework? Photograph any question — even handwritten — and work through it together.
Five minutes to see it all
If you want the quick tour, this is the path we give reviewers:
- Sign in at textbook.app/app/ with any Google account and open Class 10 → Mathematics → Quadratic Equations. The original pages open instantly, insights beside them.
- Select the quadratic formula on the page and choose Explain steps — watch the chalkboard write the derivation, then turn on narration.
- Scroll the insights panel to the end for Practice questions — real CBSE board questions with their sources, each with a Solve-step-by-step button.
- Switch to Chat mode and photograph any question from a notebook.
- For the senior shelves, try Class 12 → Physics → Electric Charges and Fields — the opening chapters of every core Class 12 book are pre-prepared, so they open instantly too.
What it costs, and what we do with your data
Nothing, and very little. Textbook+ is free with any Google account — no ads, no subscriptions. Chat conversations live only in your session, photos you upload are never stored, and everything runs on Google Cloud with no data sent to any other third party. The details are in our privacy policy.
An experiment, improving weekly
Textbook+ is an experimental project by Aryabeta. It gets better every week — this month alone the library grew from Classes 6–10 to 6–12, board-exam practice arrived for Classes 10 and 12, and the tutor learned to read photographed questions. If something confuses you, delights you, or breaks, write to hello@aryabeta.com — we genuinely read everything.
