Privacy notice
Draft (2026-10-draft-8). Our lawyers are still reviewing this notice, and it may change before Textbook+ launches.
Textbook+ helps students in Classes 8 to 12 who learn from NCERT books. Other books coming soon. This is what we do with your data.
What we collect
- Your name and email from your Google sign-in.
- Your date of birth and class, to check your age and pitch explanations at your level.
- What you type or say to the tutor, and photos of book pages you send.
- Photos of the drawings you answer with in papers and tests.
- Your progress in lessons, and your test answers and scores.
How long we keep it
- Conversations: kept until 18 months after you last use Textbook+, then deleted automatically. You can choose to keep them until you delete them instead; if you then don't use Textbook+ for 3 years, we'll warn you, then delete them.
- Photos of your drawn answers: kept privately until 18 months after you last use Textbook+, so you can go through your papers with the tutor. Then they're deleted.
- Other photos and voice clips are read and then discarded. The exception: turns that went wrong, and 1 in 10 others at random, are kept for 90 days so a small named team can check our quality.
- Progress, test scores and saved revision: while your account is open.
- The record that you agreed to this notice: as long as the law requires.
Where it is kept
- Stored in India, on Google Cloud in Mumbai.
- Some processing, such as reading your photos and writing replies, runs on Google servers outside India, including the US and Singapore. Nothing is stored there.
What we never do
- No ads, ever.
- We never sell or share your data.
- Your data is never used to train AI models.
Your choices
- Look back at your past conversations in Your conversations.
- Delete your data in Settings. You have 7 days to change your mind.
- To ask for a copy of your data, or about anything in this notice, email us at hello@textbook.app.
